Year Five
at Green Ridge Primary Academy
Each term, Year Five undertake a new unit of learning. These include River Deep, Mountain High, Pharaohs, and All Change. Within the Autumn Term, the children study rivers and mountains, examining the water cycle, where water comes from, and notable rivers and mountains around the world. In the Spring Term, Year Five examine the geographical aspects of Egypt, looking closely at the Nile River, before delving into the history of Ancient Egypt. Finally, during the Summer Term, the children examine the history of World War II, considering the causes and outcomes. Throughout the year, the children will be exposed to a variety of curriculum subjects in addition to these central themes.
