    Special Education Needs

Here at Green Ridge, we pride ourselves on being a highly inclusive school. We believe that each pupil has individual and unique needs. However, some pupils require more support than others to achieve well.  We acknowledge that a significant proportion of pupils will have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEN/D) at some time in their school career. Many of these pupils may require help throughout their time in school, while others may need a little extra support for a short period of time to help them overcome more temporary needs. If these pupils are to achieve their full potential, we must recognise this and plan accordingly. Our school aims to provide all pupils with strategies for dealing with their needs in a supportive environment, and to give them meaningful access to the National Curriculum.

The latest SEND Policy and SEN Information Report can be found on our Policies page.

We are delighted to share that, following our achievement of the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Centre of Excellence status in June 2024, our most recent review in June 2026 resulted in us being awarded IQM Flagship Status. The Inclusion Quality Mark is a nationally recognised framework that evaluates schools on their commitment to inclusive practice across all aspects of school life. Achieving Flagship Status recognises the strength of our provision and commitment to ensuring every child can thrive. It also enables us to support and collaborate with other schools within our cluster, sharing effective practice and helping to drive inclusion more widely.

Green Ridge remains a beacon of inclusive practice. The commitment to ensuring that every child feels valued, supported, and able to thrive is evident throughout the school' - IQM Report 2026
